Interfacebook

Alone among my friends, Dennis refuses to join Facebook. We all have our reasons for joining or not I suppose, but we talk so much about it and the comings and goings that happen on there that I think he actually IS on Facebook. In a way. I am his Dennis-to-Facebook and Facebook-to-Dennis interface.

Anything you want to tell him? Just post it on my wall and I'll get him the message and post his reply. Maybe this is how stuff got done before computers.

Dennis Took His Toys And Went Home

Hey Dennis, we all miss you in the blogosphere. Please come back, we have noticed the level of acerbic wit around here has dropped off sharply since you left us.

Back, By Popular Demand

Ok, Dennis got permission from "the girl" for me to put this picture back up. This was the shot that originally adorned this post.

Bursting @ The Seams

Dennis today sent me the single plumpest email attachment I've ever received: upwards of 24 Megabytes! This coax-cable-choking monster must have slogged the entire midwest internet trunk as it chugged it's way from his server in Dearborn to my MobileMe account somewhere in "The Cloud".

Although the internet is easily capable of carrying enormous amounts of data, most mail servers have size limits on mail message attachments to avoid inconveniencing customers as their local servers gasp and stumble. It is amazing to me that an email this large was allowed through.

Note: Ok, it was a picture of Dennis back in the day, all polyester and platform. I removed it by request of the subject.

Another Look At The World

Dennis is back in action. He's committed to starting up his blog again. I guess he saw all of the glory and honors bestowed upon us bloggers and couldn't stand to sit on the sidelines for one minute longer.

There's nothing on there yet, I just checked. But soon...soon.

(just checked again...still nothing)

Dennis, Amplified

Dennis came over for beer & pizza the other day. While Heather was getting Maddie to sleep, she could hear Dennis talking.

"Denizen Youd!"

Vestigiality

Poor dude. Days after even the most liberal of health care plans would kick out a heart transplant recipient, Dennis is still languishing in the hospital. He's had complications, palpitations, and undulations related to the surgical removal of his vermiform appendix. So much trouble for an organ that probably has no function (I know, I know, recent evidence says that it may have functionality related to the immune system, or perhaps gut flora, but that is unimportant when you are in pain).

Anyhow, Dennis, I hope you get better soon. And if the whole is better that the sum of the parts, well then you are getting less complicated, at least.

:)

P.S. Incidentally, Dennis, treat your sphincter with care (from now on), because:

"Doctors in the last decade have stopped removing the appendix during other surgical procedures as a routine precaution, because it can be successfully transplanted into the urinary tract to rebuild a sphincter muscle and reconstruct a functional bladder." - Wikipedia
