Red Tails

This movie looks like it will be good. I just watched the first trailer. It's based on the true story of the Tuskegee Airmen, an all-black bomber-escort unit in WWII called the 332nd Fighter Group. The rear tails of their P51 Mustangs were painted red, hence the movie title. They had the best record of any fighter group in the war. All told, in the thousands of runs they flew, they only lost about 25 bombers to enemy fire. Other escorts often lost that many in a single mission.

I had the chance to meet one of the WWII Tuskegee Airmen. He signed a photo for Zach. He gave a little talk about his experiences and it was fascinating.
