Kimberly had the highest grade-point average in her high school class. She took all the advanced placement courses and received about every honor her school could bestow. She got only one B in her entire 4 years, all the rest A's. No other student in her class or school came close to her level of achievement.
Yet she was not made valedictorian or salutatorian.
Doesn't make sense, until you know that this happened in Arkansas.
And Kimberly is black.
The school board would not allow her mother speak to them about this until after graduation.
Now that board will have to speak about it to a federal judge. I hope they all get fired.

OMG, seriously? Why have I not heard about this? This is 2011, right, not 1950?
