Stuffing Beavers Up North

You know, I think that just may be the only blog title I've ever come up with that almost makes me want to apologize.

Almost.

It was a long weekend for the Wild family...we drove all the way up to the very top of Michigan, Copper Harbor, for my nephew's wedding.

First let me say that the children were AWESOME! We had very little crying, pouting, and whimpering, and most of what we did have came from me. Zach hardly ushered a peep the whole trip. Madison had a few moments of breakdown, but nothing too bad. Brooke in particular just sat in her seat and watched Maddie for hours on end, and slept the rest of the time. Madison at her age was not a happy traveler. Thank goodness we got a good car baby for our last one :)

Despite a speeding ticket on the way home somewhere near Marquette, we all had a great time. We stayed in a log cabin, ate local whitefish, and saw more stuffed animal trophies than we ever have before and probably ever will again.

The wedding was beautiful, and it was a blast to photograph. I can't wait for the happy couple to see their "Photographic Memories". Here are a few early samples, the first one is the teaser pic I sent to Erik and Linda but they haven't seen the rest of these yet. Many more to come!

Parking

We rode our bikes to the park the other day, and the kids had a veritable blast. Zach let Maddie ride on his lap down the big-kid slides and she took to it like a fish to that wet stuff made of two hydrogens and one oxygen. She didn't want to leave. I think they both became closer friends because of it, and I'll take that!

Maddie has often since been heard saying "Park...Slide...Zachy..."

Brino The Rhino

Thanks in part to your outpouring of well-wishes, positive thoughts, and trout sacrifices to the river goddess, Brian has come out of his surgery well, without the searing pain that was predicted. Who "nose", he may be up and about in a day or two...
