En Pointe

We did another chaotic weekend of dance photography in the midst of the Brooke health expolosion. I used a new darker and more dramatic backdrop and the photographs came out really good!

Forgotten...Almost

As we were all fighting for the couch during a movie this weekend, it suddenly hit me that we had forgotten to give Zach one of his birthday presents! So here it is, the big, blue, warm, cozy, comfy chair!

"I Want Daddy To See This"

Maddie was so proud of how cute she looked this morning that mommy captured the moment and sent it to me. It made me smile!

Hue Today, Green Tomorrow?

Ok, let's vote. This is an unretouched photo taken at just over two months of age. Will Brooke's eyes go brown, stay blue, or veer off in another direction?

I vote blue.

Going Down

Brooke's bili is heading southwards again, under the penetrating gaze of the targeted 460 nm blue LEDs. If all goes well she'll be home again tomorrow. Heather is staying the night with her, I am home with Maddie and aunt Mary.

See you tomorrow chicks!

One Size

Maddie found some surgical gloves in the hospital.

Ok, she didn't find them, I gave them to her.

She was delighted with them, proving again that in any given situation, it's always more fun to be a child.

Colors

We met with our painter yesterday. Quite a character. He was expecting us to give him two or three shades of "White or Almost White" from his thin pamphlet and he would be done with us.

Man was he was wrong.

We were his worst nightmare. We showed up with a list of colors that would make a rainbow turn green (or purple) with envy. Every room and hallway is a different color.

Or two.

He's going to start painting today, and it will take him a week and a half of taping and rolling before he gets to leave. I can't wait to see what the whole thing looks like when the dust settles. We took some dramatic chances...

We were pretty surprised that he agreed to do all this painting, he was clearly not expecting such picky and demanding customers bearing paint chips.

On the down side though, we were looking forward to Ingrid flying in to town to help us paint. Now we'll have to think of another excuse to get her here.

Bursts Of Color, On Cotton

Maddie made a tie-dyed shirt at daycare today. She is very proud of it. She even demanded to do her own modeling.

Old Horse, Out To Pasture

Brian sold his 2000 blue Mustang GT after eight glorious years of V8 fun. And so ends an era. A member of the Wild family has owned a V8 Mustang ever since 1996. An unbroken line.

Or does that not really count as an era?
