Gaming The System

Zach goes to extraordinary lengths to avoid doing homework, most of which are actually more work than just doing the homework in the first place.

Because he often "loses" homework assignments somewhere between school and home, we have worked out a system with his teacher whereby he writes his assignments in his planner in her presence. Then we can check to make sure there is a homework assignment in his backpack for each planner entry.

But Zach has found a way to defeat this system. When it comes time to write the assignments in his planner, he tells his teacher he doesn't have his planner. So she makes him write the assignments on a separate sheet of paper.

A sheet which never again sees the light of day.

Ahh, but I am on to him now. So we'll rig the system to prevent such unauthorized loose documents from being used, and this will close that loophole.

But Zach is very smart, resourceful, and clever. He'll use his cunning to come up with another way to avoid homework, if I know my son.
