Congrats to Brian for winning first place in the Hi-Lex chili cook-off! He has a secret recipe he's been tuning for quite a while, and apparently it's ready for prime time.
He's not divulging his recipe but it appears to be a hybrid Texas-style with fresh-ground spices.

Dave ranked high in the Garrett chili cook off in Arizona. He named it "Godzilla Chili"! We need a Wild chili cook off. Maybe at the next reunion!
Great idea, HB! I'll try my hand at it. I already have an idea for a secret ingredient (don't tell anyone...it's McCormick's chile powder)

I lost a chili cook-off once to a 5 ingredient chili that used McCormicks chili powder, the judges (at the Ferndale Elks club) were not very discerning. This time I beat out ten other chili's, one of which was the engineering directors', that might not have been good.
