Drafting And Passing
Zach got a chance to show off his Mad Skillz on the Kart track this weekend. He shocked us all by reaching deep inside and producing a previously hidden innate talent for race car driving. The contests weren't even close. He passed us all, adult, child, and teenager, with equal ease. He wove in and out between us like we were potholes in the track. We were all just easily sidestepped obstacles to his progress.
With a grim look of determination on his face, he seemed to channel Andretti, apexing the corners like a razor, intimidating the other drivers, and squeezing his kart into almost impossible holes.
Of course, like any good race driver, it eventually went to his head and we heard about it all the way home. I am glad that it made him feel confident and good though, he deserved it. And I did elicit a nodding remark at one point:
"You were pretty good too, dad".
