We all know that the computer, the device that was supposed to make everything we do paperless, has overseen the consumption of more paper than any other human invention except maybe the printing press. Wielding it's chain saw known as the laser printer, countless millions of trees have fallen to this "paperless" workflow.
I know I often scratch my head when I send someone an e-mail and the first thing they do is print it so they can read it. That's crazy stuff.
Well, in an effort to combat that, an effort I can't seriously see succeeding, the WWF (World Wildlife Fund, not fake wrestling) has designed a new file format based on PDF called WWF, which they claim is the first truly "green" file format. So, "what makes a file format green?" you ask.
It cannot be printed.
