Dream, Interrupted

The following themes and fictitious events were muddled together and focused into a storyline in my dreams two nights ago. And I say "dreams" plural because for the first time in my life my dream continued through several jarring wake-ups, just where they left off and without skipping a beat:

- Dinosaurs.
- A large tsunami which flooded my city up to about the second floor level, bringing all kinds of misery with it.
- A camera with a really slow focus lock. This may not sound as bad as a tsunami to you, but it's one of my more common nightmares.
- A post-apocalyptic dystopia surely brought on by my recent reading of both "The Passage" and "Neuromancer". At least I had the sense in my dream not to use the elevators.
The use of large trucks at high speed to level cyclone fences. Not sure where this came from.

These things all mixed together in a way that seemed natural and compelling. And I kept waking up and I remember being so happy that my dream wasn't reality, and then I would drift off again right into the middle of it.

Odd, that.
