2012

There is something I feel I need to get out of the way now, so you can all enjoy the next few years.

Yes, the Mayan calendar is rolling over it's 5,126 year cycle in late December 2012.

No, the world is not going to end.

Even if thousands or millions of people believe it.

Even if they make a movie about it.

Relax.

Reiteration, Again

The "lightning-fried-cow" ex-farmer guy I work with now has a very long and detailed story about his parents farm being hit by a tornado during the recent storms. He has in-depth information on how many trees were shredded, which direction the barn went, and even has approximate dimensions of the "burn pile" they made from the debris. He's talked at length about the processes of removing silo parts from ditches, mending fences, and looking for pigs in the nearby woods.

I have learned quite a bit, actually.

Like for instance, as exciting as tornadoes are, after the eighth telling or so, they get pretty mundane, and eventually turn downright boring.

Some Work, Some Play

"Bring Your Child To Work Day" was fun. For me, that is. With all the long meetings, I think Zach would have rather been at the dentist. That is, until he found some new friends to play his DS with. Here is a particular highlight, as he destroys the competition in a rousing wireless game of Mario Kart. Yes, the young kid in the center with the Game Boy is not really in the game, but "shh", he doesn't know that.
