Sheri got a call from Z's Vice-Principal saying that another child in the school was caught googling "Lesbian" at home and told his mom Zach "told him to look it up".
To which I say: ok. So?
1) I don't care if Z knows what a lesbian is. If he asks me I'll tell him, just as I would tell him what a fuel injector or a wallaby is.
2) Every kid in his school knows this word. Blaming Zach is like going after somebody for giving you a cold.
3) Does this child do everything someone else tells him to? Mom might want to worry about that trait a little.
4) If this woman is so concerned about her child learning things about the outside world, she should have parental controls on her home computer, no?
I can't count how many times Z has come home from school with some new word or idea that might be considered inappropriate for someone his age. I've never once thought of calling the school to try to blame the kid who told it to him.
That's just asinine.
For the record, he denies saying this to the kid. And for all I know he may not have. Or he may have.
I don't care.

Get used to it. There will always be parents like that but the school never should have called you about it.
