Meet the star of The Hunger Games, one movie my whole family is looking forward to. Zach and I and Heather have read all the books: The Hunger Games, Catching Fire, and Mocking Jay. Jennifer Lawrence (Winter's Bone) was just officially cast in the lead role of Kat Everdeen, the girl who took her little sister's place in the Hunger Games.
I will be very interested to see how they manage to make mainstream movies from these books, after all, the plot involves a bunch of 12-18 year old poor children fighting to the death in an arena while the whole thing is broadcast live to the nation of Panem.

Sounds gruesome, your whole family read these? I like happy stories. All the rest is what real life is for!
They're excellent books. Even Zach's teacher is reading them! They are targeted towards young teens, but are IMO much better written than the Twilight series.
