Holy Schist!

On the ride home Tuesday, Zach was telling me how his science class is studying geology and learning all about rocks and erosion. They saw an educational film about all the various layers of the Earth, he said. So I asked him what the film was like and he said:

"It's called Journey to the Center of the Earth".

Yeah, they watched a Brendan Fraser movie to illustrate geology. Seriously. Remembering that the geology in that story is largely imaginary, I asked him what that particular movie had to do with factual geology and he said "They talked about Schist".

I wonder if that was before or after they ran into the T-Rex.

What next? When they cover anthropology will they use "Encino Man"?

Yikes! My high school biology teacher used to regularly show us episodes of MacGuyver.
