Dirty Laundry

We get many many emails from Zach's school. Which, for the most part is a good thing. I'm very up-to-the-minute on just about everything that goes on at his school, from PTA meetings to special events. They even send out emails to inform the parents when an "unusual event" occurs at the school, such as a student being injured. Here's one sent out today

As school safety and communication remain a priority at our school, I wish to inform you of a situation that occurred today at approximately 7:50 a.m. A teacher came to school this morning and was feeling pain. We contacted 911. EMS personnel came to Warner and evaluated the teacher. I am happy to report that the teacher is feeling better and is now with family.

Thank you for your continued support.

So now I get to know about every bout of gas and backache experienced by the staff. I suppose this kind of thing is meant to reassure us parents that emergencies are responded to quickly and also so we can tell our kids tonight that poor Mr. Jacobson* is not lying in the morgue, dead from his sharp abdominal pains. It's just a little freaky to me for some reason.

And OMG how embarrassing for Mr. Jacobson*

*Not a real name. Ok, it's a real name, but not, as far as I know, the name of a real teacher at Zach's school. We here at WoW always protect the names and passwords of innocent gas-sufferers.

Very funny! There were many times I wished I could contact teachers without calling them at home. Email would have been a great tool...with limits, of course.
