Phase 2 of our plan to drop cable is in full effect.
Phase 1 happened earlier this week when I called Evil Cable (see attached photo of typical Evil Cable exec) to drop our cable TV. Kept the cable internet and successfully got us the internet for $30 for the next year by dropping hints that we would go with another service for that too.
Anyhow, we got our new Apple TV yesterday and it's awesome. And WAY smaller than it looks in the pics...it's not much bigger than a deck of cards. We streamed a few movies from it on Netflix just to try it out (Alice in Wonderland - too scary for Brooke, Planet 51, ditto, settled on Cloud with a Chance of Meatballs - just right). It streamed in HD with not a hiccup or missed frame. Awesome. Next I tried the streaming from the iTunes library on the Mac Pro, again perfect performance. So far so good.
Today begins Phase 3 as our Roku Player is out for delivery. I'll try out Amazon OnDemand and Pandora, and get ready for the biggest test of all, the coming of Hulu Plus to the Roku which is scheduled for the very near future.
Needless to say, we don't miss cable TV at all. I'll keep you posted because I know you care. LOL.
