Ever wonder what all those ancient Greek statues looked like back in the day? They're all white now, but it's been assumed for quite a while that they were originally painted. Well, now a new technique has been developed using ultraviolet light to determine the patterns and colors on long-since faded statuary and bring it back to life, so to speak. Here's one example of how Greek art looked when it was new...
...really tacky, it turns out. I think I like them better in bleached white.
