Hmmm, let's see. We've had an ongoing medical soap opera with Brooke, which has hopefully now come to an end. Turns out the tubes in her ears worked fine, but other areas started flaring up. She has been in and out of the doctor's office many times and even took a trip to the hospital for a few days with pneumonia. Here are some hastily-taken phone pics from those dark days:
We have ordered our deck! We're getting it from the same guy who built our house. It will be 16x24 and made of Trex. Not T-Rex, Trex. Well, actually a competitor of Trex. Everything is rolling now on the project and if all goes well we should be sipping wine on it by the end of next week!
Oh, don't worry, the kids are all still cute. Zach started football practice with Jay as his coach again and he might get some time playing quarterback.
He's keeping us entertained too. Maddie threw something at him that hit him in the head and he looked at her and said:
"In the face? Really, Maddie?"
with perfect comedic timing and inflection. I still can't stop laughing.
Maddie of course has her own moments, and continues to say interesting and funny things like this little philosophical conversation she had with Heather:
Mads: "That fireman was frowning at me. (we had just passed a fire truck on the road)"
Mommy: "No, he didn't see you. No one could frown at you. Mommy made you too pretty for that."
Mads: "No, God made me. God made all of us."
Mommy: "Yes that's true."
Mads: "God stuck my bones in my skin so that I can walk around...(thinks for a minute)...did God put Brookie's skin in your tummy?"
Mommy: "Yes, but first he stuck her bones in it!"
