Upon Sand


We huffed our way up the Climbing Dune last week, and it was exactly as I remembered it as a kid. Although I seem to remember shooting up the shiny sands sports car-like, not chugging like a steam locomotive through the Rockies.

Here's a view of Glen Lake from the top shoulder of Sleeping Bear Dune. If you look really carefully you can see that damned bridge that was closed due to construction, throwing everyone's GPS units off into a tizzy of detours. Grr.

But the dune and the lake are beautiful. And that's what really matters.

Ben and I saw that same view a few weeks back. And yes-we huffed up that big old sand dune-quite exhausting and Ben swears that he will never do that again. We'll see...
