Pots & Pans
Amidst the cacophony of life, illness, and work, I forgot to mention that the new 5D II body was delivered Monday. Although I haven't had much time to play with it, I have taken some test shots with various lenses and I can say without a doubt that it produces images with far higher quality than the Rebel did.
In fact, they are simply stunning.
Focus lock is near-instantaneous, low light performance is better than anything I've ever seen (3200 ISO shots look as good as 200 ISO on the Rebel). And the 21MP images are loaded with detail, good enough for razor-sharp prints up to at least 20x30 (or, more likely in my case, good image size retention with heavy cropping).
So where are they, these glorious images, full of gorgeous detail and unfulfillable longing? Surely the pictures of cameras and lenses and cooking vessels I am posting are getting tiresome.
Well, when I get a minute I'll start posting some, although this blog will not do them justice.
