Zach's mom Sheri is in the hospital due to a pulmonary embolism. We're all hoping she gets well fast, and trying not to scare Zach too much. I think she'll be fine, I took Zach to see her in the hospital yesterday, and he was happy to see her looking better and laughing a little.
He was fairly traumatized by the woman who was in the bed next to Sheri though. This woman was not doing well, on a vent, kept triggering emergency alarms all night, etc. Very scary looking to an 8-year old. I think it helped though, because he realized that his mom was much better off than that poor lady.
Funny thing about how kids think: He's bummed about his mom being in the hospital, but even more bummed that it might delay their Cedar Point trip. But he's a big boy, he understands.
