Our Dreams Are What We're Made Of

Incidentally, I'm going to drag you through the operatic process of selling and buying a house, whether or not you want it.

We had a sort of mini-heartbreak yesterday, just one of many we've had already and many more to come. We went back for a second viewing of the house we like.

Now we love it. It's everything we want, and more.

We brought Brian and Mom & Dad, Maddie and Zach. Everyone loved the place. We even talked to the builder who lives on the same block. He is a physicist and teaches at U of M. Very nice, but strange guy who also owns a Model A, and since Mom & Dad brought their '31, they talked and talked.

But as we walked in our realtor casually told us that another family has been looking at it and they are probably about to write an offer.

Our hearts sank. Nothing is set in stone of course, but it was quite a blow to our dreams anyhow.

(I just now, this very minute, got a call from our realtor saying the other family just wrote an offer...it's now a bigger heartache).

So, what's next? Well, we need to sell our house as fast as possible, keep our heads up, and keep trying.

It's just kind of a down moment right now.
