Down The Road, A Spell

After several years of blind dates, set-ups, and Internet "connections" (watch for my upcoming post "You've Got Mail. From The Devil.") I was more than a little discouraged. I wanted to find someone amazing, settle down, and get on with living. As it turned out, I found my wife in the most unlikely, low-tech way you can imagine: I walked my dog.

Jake loves walks and we used to go on long ones almost every day. One day we were down the street visiting a friend and as we were talking in the front yard, Heather's parents came out to see Jake. I had talked to them previously, they are very nice people and they love dogs. It was then that I heard Willie bark for the first time.

Then Heather came out of the house. She was there cleaning her lease Explorer to get it ready to turn in. She was really pretty. And tall. That's the first thing I noticed. And she made hospital scrubs look very sexy :) I actually didn't notice her red hair until much later (too much other good stuff).

It took a little while to get together, but when we did, we hit it off right away. It would take many blog posts to describe even a tenth of it, but it all started with a walk down the block.
